Removal Company Encouraging Active Kids

A group of studying primary school teachers will be holding an Easter holiday activities day at the Coomera and Oxenford Community Centre on Wednesday April 15.
The group known as UNI-fied are second year primary school teaching students from Griffith Universities Gold Coast Campus.
Group leader Mal Foki said, “This event started off to meet criteria for a university assignment where we had to volunteer at a local centre and work with children in the middle year’s age group of 7 to 13.”
“I was made aware of the centre last year when I moved an employee into her new house while working for removal company MiniMovers.”
“I’m the type of person who doesn’t do thing by half, so I decided to put on a day which would boost the centre, the kids and the community,” he said.
There are a number of activities planned for the day including team sport clinics for rugby league and basketball, team building activities, music and dance activities and a free sausage sizzle for everyone to enjoy.
Company JointAction has donated a signed Wallabies jersey to be raffled off with all proceeds going to the Community Centre.
“We are currently selling raffle tickets for the Wallabies jersey and have already raised $400,” Mr Foki said.
“MiniMovers CEO Paul Beavon has been fantastic in regards to helping me organise this activities day,” Mr Foki said.
MiniMovers provided Mr Foki with uniforms for the day and purchased new sporting equipment of which most will be donated back to the Community Centre.
“Thank you also to all the local shops who have donated food to the event, Woolworths Oxenford, Oxenford Meats, Super Butcher Oxenford and Woolworths Southport,” Mr Foki said.
